About us
The Judith Obina Foundation, established on November 19, 2019, is driven by the vision of “keeping the peace” across communities world wide. Originally inspired by President Judith Obina’s engagement with the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) leader, the foundation was created to address the profound challenges faced by conflict-affected regions in Northern Uganda, particularly the Acholi subregion. However, the scope of the foundation has since expanded to encompass a global mission, reaching beyond war zones to address the root causes of social, economic, and psycho-social challenges in communities around the world.
The foundation is dedicated to tackling the long-term impacts of conflict, poverty, social inequality, and other pressing issues affecting communities’ well-being and stability. Whether supporting post-conflict recovery, fostering social cohesion, or empowering economically disadvantaged groups, our mission remains clear: to restore peace in all its forms—psycho-social, social, and economic help individuals rebuild their lives.
Through our efforts, we strive to heal communities, promote peace-building, and offer opportunities for economic empowerment, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has the chance to live in a peaceful and supportive environment.
Our Vision
The Judith Obina Foundation envisions nurturing a stable and peaceful community by addressing the lingering psycho-social and economic impacts caused by the armed conflict. It prioritizes the cultivation of harmony among the affected communities by fostering recovery and resilience.
